Craft Vendors Needed for Philadelphia Zoo
Until filled
:
The Philadelphia Zoo is getting “cultured” for three weekends this season when our guests can take a trip around the world with our “Creatures of Culture International Series.” The Zoo needs craft vendors to sell their wares who match the “theme.” Art relating to animals is exciting as well! All events are 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. The dates and "themes" are:
July 10 - 11 - Creatures of Culture: North America
Enjoy American regional cuisine for lunch, buy American crafts and then check out traditional Native American performances. Learn about animals from North America that reside in the Philadelphia Zoo and some of the Creatures of Habitat exhibits that explore endangered North American species
August 21 - 22 - Creatures of Culture: Africa
Watch and learn dances and try some of the flavorful dishes found in Africa while shopping for great crafts. Find out how you can help endangered species such as the Western Lowland gorilla found in Kenya and Cameroon.
October 9 - 10 - Creatures of Culture: Central and South America
The Creatures of Culture International Series wraps up with a taste of culture below the equator. Watch craft demonstrations and buy some too! Savor a great Latin lunch after learning about South American endangered species and what you can do to help. Throughout the day, local South American performance groups will be showcasing their talents and highlights of their culture. Don’t forget to check out the LEGO exhibit of Humboldt penguins, (they’re native to Peru)!
