Moore College of Art & Design has an immediate opening for an Administrative Assistant. This position is an entry level position that performs accounting functions for the CE Department, this includes maintaining ledgers, general accounting, generating purchase orders, preparing budgets, managing tuition income, deposits, refunds and all monetary transactions. This position also performs clerical duties, data entry and assists the Co-Director with scholarship & discount programs, faculty recruitment, program evaluations and other duties as assigned. Qualifications/Requirements: Candidate must have an AA or equivalent and/or at least two years administrative experience and experience with accounting or bookkeeping. Candidate also must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including both Excel and Access and have excellent customer service skills. This position will work some evenings and Saturdays and some local travel may be required. Bucks County Community College in Newtown, PA has a tenure track opening for an Instructor/Assistant Professor in Cinema/Video. Requirements: Master’s Degree in film or video and college level teaching experience. Successful candidates should demonstrate the ability to teach image capture and post-production techniques for both film and video, including digital editing and sound workflows. Experience in three-camera studio production as well as teaching After Effects, Final Cut Pro, and ProTools is also required. Preferred: Experience with advising students; serving on college-wide and departmental committees; creating curriculum; assisting and mentoring part-time faculty; assisting with student independent projects and film festival. The successful candidate can be actively working on his or her own projects, however teaching and participation in academic planning and curricular development are the focus of this position. Digital Media Instructor, Mural Arts Program Youth Action & Art

The Mural Arts Program (MAP) is currently looking for a second instructor who its new after school program, Youth Action & Art: Crafting a Virtual Community, to complement this instructor by engaging students in creating digital media. This person will work with the first instructor developing and implementing lesson plans that specifically allow students to learn how to use and create digital media and explore how to most effectively convey their message through web and digital media. The Digital Media Instructor will potentially work both independently and with the Community Murals Instructor. Program description: Youth Action & Art: Crafting a Virtual Community is an after school course where youth create and curate a web site connecting community arts to technology and leadership. The website and its accompanying course of study are intended to serve as vehicles for MAP to expand and enhance its commitment in the area of youth development, including critical and creative thinking, communication, leadership, community engagement, and project management skills. Participating students have shown a high level of dedication to mural arts, interest in capturing the message and story of both the murals and the people who create them, and signs of leadership. MAP is working with Night Kitchen on the design of the website. A muralist is currently the lead instructor for the class. Qualifications: Experience in web design and creating digital media (video, audio, images, and other media); experience engaging high school age youth in exploring and creating digital media; experience in using online technologies to create real and virtual communities. For the fall 2008 session, the program runs Wednesdays 4 to 6 from October 22 to December 17. winter and spring 2009 dates and times are to be decided. The Darlington Arts Center seeks a Manage of Education and Event Programming. This individual will, under the direction of the Executive Director and in conjunction with other Center staff, plan and direct the content, design and delivery of music and arts education programs to children. Propose new learning opportunities that support DAC’s artistic and educational vision, mission and strategic goals, providing cost/benefit analysis to help Management and the Board of Directors evaluate their viability. Participate collaboratively with other Center staff and teaching artists in curriculum development, ensuring that learning and revenue goals are established for every program, results are measured and accurately reported on a regular basis, and designs are improved. Create opportunities to facilitate integration and collaboration between DAC’s instrumental, dance, vocal and visual arts programs. Play an active, collaborative role with Public Relations and Development in proposing and executing approved tactics to increase the visibility, popularity, capacity and financial success of the Center. The African American Museum in Philadelphia (AAMP) collects and preserves art, artifacts and material culture and, through exhibitions and programs, interprets history and culture, sharing the history and stories of African Americans and others of the African Diaspora. We enrich the lives of all visitors, especially children and youth, using education to empower them through experiences that enlighten culturally and intellectually. They currently seek a Collections Coordinator, who is expected to manage and care for collections in accordance with accepted museum practices. It is the responsibility of the Collections Coordinator to maintain the collections and the storage areas and to update the collections records. The Collections Coordinator is responsible for the care and handling of the museum’s artifacts. Responsibilities:
Maintain and organize museum collection storage area, implementing proper archival storage practices and conducting periodic physical inventory; monitor environmental conditions of facility and storage areas and advise facility manager of deviations from standards; maintain detailed records for collection and track current physical location; create and input digital images of objects into databases; coordinate or assist in coordination of physical movement of collections; respond to inquiries regarding specific objects in the collection facts; supervising volunteer projects. Qualifications, Skills and Abilities Required: BA/BS degree in History, Art or Art History with at least one year experience in a museum preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, computerized databases and digital photography. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, to lift 30 lbs, and have excellent fine motor skills. Salary commensurate with experience.
