"Divergent" Grant Program for PA FIne Art Photographers
Ongoing : Divergent is a new grant program that awards $100 grants to Pennsylvania artists at the early stages of career development and working in the medium of photography. The program is interested in artists that have a unique photographic expression; the program is not interested in conventional work, e.g. street photography or land/cityscapes, unless the artist is doing something radically different with that genre. Submissions accepted year round; no application form or fee to submit work. To apply, submit only one 8”x10” or 8” x 12” print (color or black and white), unmounted and without mat, with artist name and contact information (phone, address, e-mail) on back, along with SASE, artist resume and/or one page statement. Work of selected grant recipients will remain in the permanent collection of the Divergent Archives. Pollock-Krasner Foundation' Grants For Artists
Ongoing : he Pollock-Krasner Foundation provides financial assistance to individual visual artists of established ability on an ongoing basis throughout the year. The Foundation’s dual criteria for grants are recognizable artistic merit and demonstrable financial need, whether professional, personal or both. Open to individuals who have been professional artists over a significant period of time and who work in any of the following media: painting, sculpture, and works on paper, including printmaking. The Foundation encourages applications from artists who have genuine financial needs that are not necessarily catastrophic. Grants are intended for a one-year period of time. The Foundation will consider need on the part of an applicant for all legitimate expenditures relating to his or her professional work and personal living, including medical expenses. Ongoing (the 21st of each month) : An artist has started a new foundation called Service-Works. Service-Works provides a monthly project grant. The amount of each month's grant is determined by how much money he earns as a waiter (on a specific night) in a fine-dining restaurant in San Francisco. There are no geographic or demographic prerequisites for applying. Applications are quite simple and are due on the 21st of each month. Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation - Grants to Representational Artists
Ongoing / no deadline : The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation aids talented artists in the early stages of their careers by aiding worthy art students, artists, or sculptors who need further training or other assistance during their formative years. Awards are limited to candidates working in painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture. Work must be representational or figurative - abstract or non-representational art is precluded by the terms of the Foundation's Charter. The Foundation will not accept applications from commercial artists, photographers, video artists, filmmakers, craftmakers, or any artist whose work falls primarily into these categories. To be eligible for a grant candidates are required to have already started or completed training in an established school of art and/or to demonstrate, through past work and future plans, a commitment to making art a lifetime career.
