Using combinations of gouache,
acrylic, ink, watercolor, pencil and pen and ink, Scott Lewis
creates a world made-up of antagonistic landscapes with twisted,
bizarre inhabitants. Drawing literally upon the expression, "it
is written all over his face" Lewis composes his characters
of extreme colors, textures, and musculature in a hallucinatory
way to illustrate the emotions, feelings and desires that build
the subject's psyche. The lengthy titles of his works explain
the lives of desperate characters; desperate for acceptance, desperate
to dominate a situation, or desperate for a good time (that ultimately
disappoints).
