On The Verge...
Young Women Artists

March 16 - may 27, 2000

An exhibition of works by young African American women artists whose expressions explore a variety of paths from poetic lyricism, (Lisette Morel, Rachel Reser) to brash reality, (Aishah S. Simmons, Kim Mayhorn,Ayana Evans)to the array of emotions somewhere in-between (Nzingah Muhammad, Ayanah Moor, Quashelle Curtis, Judelka Florival). Cumulatively, their work represents a cross-section of the personal and political convictions, and artistic interests of artists just launching their careers. "On The Verge..." will encompass paintings, sculpture assemblage, drawings, photography and film. Exhibition Credits: Guest Curator- Dejay Byrd, Exhibition Designers- Adrian Loving, Richard Watson
