FAQ / FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How does being an InLiquid member help my career as an artist?

InLiquid members become part of a larger community of artists. Because our site is used by collectors, curators and art advisors all over the world, our members have better chances of their work being seen, shown, and purchased. In addition, the InLiquid exhibition program only exhibits the work of current members, so they are eligible to show in these venues (The Painted Bride, The Crane Arts Building and International House) throughout the year. Each show is widely publicized, with a feature on our web site, press releases sent out to a multitude of media contacts, cards designed, and receptions hosted.

And finally, InLiquid is constantly asked for art advisory projects, small and large. Whenever we are asked for artists for specific projects we always include our members only. This means your work can be considered for exhibition and/or purchase on an ongoing basis.

What do I do to apply?

Artists, designers, and curators may submit an application form, a CD of images, resume/bio and/or statement. Applications are accepted three times a year, on the 10th of February, June, and October. Click here to download the application.

I already have my own web site, how would being an InLiquid member help me?

Being on our site means your work is viewed by thousands of people who would not otherwise see your work. Similar to being represented by a gallery, InLiquid membership provides a wider audience for your work, thus increasing your opportunities. But unlike a gallery, InLiquid members can freely have contact with those who find their work on our site. Only sales made during InLiquid coordinated exhibitions involve sharing a percentage of sales.

What information can the site post about me, and my work, my shows, my news? Can there be link to my site?

Yes, we can add a link to your individual web siteas well as your e-mail address so interested viewers can contact you directly. We can also include your CV, bio,and/or statement in addition to your images. We constantly update the member news in our events section, so your shows and news are be posted there. Additionally, we include member news in our e-newsletter, which is sent to over 3,500 subscribers.

Do I have to be from the Philadelphia area?

No. ANYONE, ANYWHERE can become a member.

If I live out of state what opportunities are there for me?

Artists from any location are eligible for exhibitions or other special member opportunities. This is an excellent way for those who live outside the immediate vicinity of Philadelphia to have their work seen by a wider audience.

How do I get my work into an exhibition?

InLiquid accepts exhibition proposals for its three ongoing venues (the Painted Bride Café Gallery, the Crane Hall, and the International House Video Lounge). In addition, the Executive Director and Exhibition Coordinator constantly use the site to find artists for shows, art advising projects, etc
