EVENTS

PATRON PREVIEW PARTY
February 21st, 2008
7pm – 8:30pm

Park Hyatt at the Bellevue
Broad and Walnut Streets
Philadelphia, PA

This event offers an exclusive opportunity to HeartWorks Patrons to view some of the artist works that will be on exhibit and sold at auction at the April 26th HeartWorks main event.  You will meet several of the contributing HeartWorks artists, including Jack Pierson and Philadelphia native Alex DaCorte.  As a Patron,  you will receive a signed and numbered Pierson or DaCorte print, created especially for this event.  Finally, as a HeartWorks Patron, you are making a commitment to support the work of Mazzoni Center in providing quality health care for the LGBT and HIV/AIDS communities, historically underserved by traditional health care.

Patron Levels

$300  Patrons committing at this level of support will receive two all-inclusive passes to
all HeartWorks events, including: Patron Preview Party, both nights of the Opening Weekend festivities, and the Closing Reception and Auction.  In addition, Patrons will be listed on the HeartWorks invitation and in the exhibition program and catalogue.

$500 Patrons committing at this level will receive all of the above.  In addition, they will receive one of only 25 signed and numbered prints created especially for this event by Alex DaCorte, a Philadelphia-based street artist and “culture jammer.”  Recently graduated from the University of the Arts, with a BFA in Printmaking, his work utilizes a mix-media approach.  He was recently considered for inclusion in the 2008 Whitney Museum Biennial, and is currently exhibiting at Parisian Laundry in Montreal.

$1000  Patrons committing at this level will receive all of the benefits of the $300 dollar level, plus one of only 25 signed and numbered prints created especially for this event by noted photographer Jack Pierson.  Pierson has made a name for himself with a body of work that includes photographs, collages, word sculptures, installations, drawings and artists books. His "Self-Portrait" series was shown in the 2004 Whitney Biennial and his works are collected by major museums worldwide. Jack Pierson currently divides his time between his home and studio in the Southern California desert near Joshua Tree National Park and New York.

$1500 Those supporters committing at the premium $1500 level will receive all of the benefits of the above-listed Patron levels.  In addition to receiving both the DaCorte and Pierson prints, they will also receive a signed and numbered print by Michele O’Marah.  The Los Angeles-based O’Marah is primarily video artist, who draws her inspiration from the works of Warhol, David Cronenberg, Patti Smith and John Waters.  Her link to Philadelphia includes getting her BFA from the University of the Arts.  This print was created especially for this event
