Divergence: Five Views On Photography
This summer the Sande Webster Gallery presents Divergence:
Five Views On Photography. This exhibition explores diverse
approches to the photographic medium. As the field continually
evolves to favor digital technologies, artists are finding
freedom from traditional processes with new creative opportunities
for personal and aesthetic expression. This contemporary photography
exhibition begins a dialog about the current and future state
of the printed photographic image. Divergence showcases
the work of Gregg Krantz, Arlene Love, Mitchell, Phil Stein,
and Ron Tarver.
All That Jazz
Jazz is America’s original and true art form. Originating
from a variety of musical styles in the Southern United States,
jazz has been an ongoing influence in the music, art and culture
of this country from the beginning of the 20th century to
the present. The jazz scene inspired generations of figure
painters who captured the rhythm and energy of America’s
jazz clubs and musicians. Jazz opened opportunities and conceptual
motivation for abstract artists to explore improvisation and
color in innovative ways. The connection between jazz music
and art has a rich and dynamic history that continues to flourish
and inspire. Come experience the spirited and vibrant exhibition
All That Jazz at the Sande Webster Gallery with work
by James Atkins, Moe Brooker, Wadsworth Jarrell, Paul Keene,
Andrew Turner, and Mark Wallison.
