About the Exhibition

Two great art institutions, the Philadelphia Sketch Club and Newman Galleries, join together this year to bring you the 2008 Philadelphia Sketch Club Members’ Exhibition. The show will be held in the expansive second floor exhibit space at Newman Galleries.
Since its founding in 1860, the Philadelphia Sketch Club’s membership has included many of the finest artists in America. In its 2008 Mem bers’ Exhibition and Sale, the Sketch Club assures its viewers that its contemporary cast still carries on the fine tradition.
Established in 1865, Newman Galleries has represented some of the most prominent artists of the Philadelphia region, including many of the members of the Sketch Club. Newman Galleries is proud to support this fine institution, which is America’s oldest continually operating art organization.
