| The exhibition Transformation:
Drawing into Painting comprises an in depth view of six artists'
understanding of the intimate relationships between drawing and
painting, with many examples from the work of each artist. The
show will emphasize the transformation from drawing to painting,
from initial concept to visual reality. Each of the artists brings
a unique and personal vision to their work. In their varied approaches
each artist demonstrates a common fascination with the complex,
intertwined dialogue between drawing and painting.
Featured artists include Simon Carr, Professor of Fine Arts at
Borough of Manhattan Community College, City University of New
York; John Goodrich, widely exhibited painter and a writer on
art, represented by the Bowery Gallery in New York; Stanley Lewis,
Academician at the National Academy and Professor Emeritus, American
University; Ying Li, Associate Professor of Fine Arts, Haverford
College; Ruth Miller, Academician at the National Academy; and
Thaddeus Radell, Professor at Parsons School of Design and the
Pratt Institute in New York City. |
