About the Exhibition

Opening reception: Saturday, February 4, 5 - 7 pm

The exhibition examines the way in which art, utility, and craft merge to inform visual ideas and notations of beauty. Don Kaiser and Stephen Ziegler — both fishermen — are showing work that reveals insights into the art and craft of the fly in fly-fishing.

Kaiser presents digital photographic collages and paintings that place flies in unusual monumental contexts and Ziegler is showing a collection of his hand-tied flies along with watercolor landscapes, done on site in notation format, depicting fishing locations.

Educational activities organized in conjunction with The Fly at Fleisher will examine the connections between the art of fly-fishing and visual art.
