About the Exhibition

Opening reception: February 1, 5 - 9 pm
Artists reception for Claymobile Creations: February 10, 1 - 3 pm

Created in 1994 as the outreach arm of The Clay Studio - and the first program of its kind in the country - the Claymobile is a mobile program that visits public and parochial schools, community-based organizations, and social service agencies in the Philadelphia and Camden region, and is dedicated to bringing clay art education to diverse populations.

The local artists who teach the Claymobile's classes transport clay, tools, glazes and everything needed to each school or community center, where a space is provided for the class. The Claymobile partners with these organizations to integrate ceramic arts into their programs and curricula. Ultimately, the Claymobile's goal is to enrich the lives of its participants through exposure to the arts, while also encouraging organizations and schools to develop and expand their arts programs.
