About the Gallery
Amble Gallery and Books is the newest addition to the Philadelphia art scene. Located in the developing Northern Liberties, Amble strives to expose people of all ages and professions to urban contemporary art, the many creative and independent press groups, and unique prints and products. Amble carries a feeling of the friendly and familiar, promoting customers to relax and browse through books or hang out and talk. Amble's collection of books and products cover a range of practices including photography, design, illustration, architecture, popular/visual culture, graffiti, comics and zines. A lot of Amble's products are handmade and hard to find, featuring many Philadelphia locals as well as international artists.
The second side of Amble is its gallery. Amble encourages artists to create site specific installations and murals, as well as traditional means of exhibiting in a commercial gallery space. If not connected aesthetically with each other, the artists are connected through their shared experiences with urban cultures such as skate, surf, graffiti, music and their continuing development within the city scapes of the 21st century.
