Valentine Fundraiser 2006

Join the Staff, Board and Friends of Spiral Q Puppet Theater, Inc. (Spiral Q) for the return of their annual Valentine Benefit. The event will feature a diverse selection of desserts and drinks from some of Philadelphia’s most exciting restaurants, cafes and caterers. A special performance auction will be hosted by performer extraordinaire, Carlota Tendant. When you have eaten your fill, dance to the sounds of the live band or browse through the silent auction of Not Just a Box of Chocolates, featuring 50 local and regional artists’ work as they "think out of the box."

Purpose of Event: Organized by Friends of Spiral Q Puppet Theater to support its essential programsand services in the Greater Philadelphia community.

Beneficiaries: Spiral Q Puppet Theater’s Living Loft Museum, Education Initiatives, Justice Works, and Neighborhood Parades and Pageants

Calling all Artists!

Artists needed to help Spiral Q Puppet Theater create the most Q-Licious Event of the year!!!

Spiral Q Puppet Theater is asking for your support in the fabulous silent art auction at Spiral Q’s Q-LICIOUS event, Not Just a Box of Chocolates. This Third Annual Benefit event will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2006 in Philadelphia. Over 300 of Spiral Q’s friends are expected to attend the event, dance, enjoy the delicious food and cocktails provided by Philadelphia’s top restaurants, and partake in the exceptional silent art auction and raffle!

Artists are invited to create, build, decorate, deconstruct, reconstruct, fill, empty, and/or transform a box to auction. Use a box/es you’ve found or pick from a box at the Q. Boxes can be made from wood, tin, ceramics, glass, mache, etc. Spiral Q encourage the transformation of boxes into tables, jewelry boxes, shadow boxes, art objects, mobiles, or anything else you can image as long as it’s "not just a box of chocolates."

Your donation will help make this auction extraordinary! If you would like to donate a work, please fill out and return the donor form. The work will be prominently displayed at the event, along with signage identifying the artist. This is a great way to market your creative voice. Participating artists will also receive one free ticket to Spiral Q's: Not Just a Box of Chocolates.

The money raised from your contribution to this event will be used to support the programs and services of Spiral Q Puppet Theater, which seeks to mobilize communities and illuminate the victories, frustrations, and possibilities of living in urban neighborhoods through the creation of giant puppet parades, toy theater, and neighborhood pageantry.
