Artifacts of the Improbable will include concert posters produced by approximately 100 poster artistsbetween 1966 and 2002. Among the artists represented are Rick Griffin, Wes Wilson, Victor Moscosso, Lee Conklin, Nigel Waymouth, Raymond Pettibon, Matt Marello, Gary Panter, Bob Masse, Mark Arminski, Jason Austin, Marco Almera, Frank Kozik and Jim Altieri.Among the groups and studios whose work is included are Enginehouse 13, The Captains of Industry, Drowning Creek, FGX Graphics and Space 1026.

There will be work from artists currently working in every state of theUnited States, Australia, Brazil, Canada, UK, Holland, Germany, Russia, Israel, Croatia, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

The show will open with a concert/poster exhibition on Friday 13th of December at the Blacony of the Trocadero, celebrating the release of the Artifacts of the Improbable CD, which features 1750 flyers produced in Philadelphia between 1978 and 1990. The Balcony event will have between 50 and 100 posters on display.

The Strapping Fieldhands and the Sickidz will be performing live. On Saturday and Sunday, December 14-15, the exhibition will be held at Sher Books at 706 N. 2nd St and will be open to the public from 10-6. The majority of posters will be up for sale and with few exceptions they arepriced between 20 and 40 dollars.

At both events a number of the artists, from Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, New Jersey and New York will be available to discuss their work. The show catalog can be found here.
