The writing in my work illustrates conversation, thought, idea, memory, or sound. The words or letters may be an overheard or not fully heard exchange. The letters may be a part of a word that is a part of a sentence, which is a part of a larger idea. They may be fragments of discussions that are interpreted differently by each witness. The words may trigger a memory or an emotion. They may be a sound heard in passing. They may interrupt a thought or they may be lost because they remain unheard. They may be parts of conversations that surround us but are not always realized. They are language and represent the desire of language to communicate clearly. These paintings are about the emphasis of an exchange and the misinterpretation of words. |
