James Abbott and Michael Froio photograph the landscape around them, but with very different approaches. Abbott’s ongoing project on Cape Cod documents both naturally occurring change and that caused by human presence. Froio’s series of Philadelphia’s rich architectural history being renewed, renovated or destroyed reflects a different sort of human intervention. Both artists share a desire to record the richness of our landscape, rural and urban, as it all too quickly becomes memory.
