Colette Copeland's video installation, Nature's Fingerprint, presents in an infomercial parody an easy-to-use "product" for those who --- for various rather practical reasons -- have chosen to commit suicide. Copeland takes an uncomfortable subject, spins it into something simultaneously disturbing and humorous. This piece follows a theme evident in many of Copeland's other works, the inherent mortality and symbolism of the physical and corporeal.

Copeland holds an MFA in Art Media Studies from Syracuse University and a BFA from the Pratt Institute. Her work has been seen in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the country; this year she curated an exhibition at the Delaware Center for Contemporary Art, Body Politic.
