InLiquids September-October InLiquid at the Bride exhibition will poke some fun at those turnpike hotel starving artist sales promoted on late-night TV. You know, the ones that urge consumers to stock up on original oils and the like. INLIQUIDATION, opening August 30 and running through October 26, plans to reclaim the artist persona that these sales grossly misrepresent to the public in an appropriately bombastic manner. A juried offshoot of InLiquids Art for the Cash Poor series, small/bargain-priced works by a number of our member artists will be on show and for sale liquidated. All art in the exhibition will be available for sale. The difference is that we will be selling REAL art by REAL artists InLiquid.com member artists who, though willing to sacrifice a great deal to make their art, find nothing romantic in the notion of being starving. The artists presenting work in INLIQUIDATION are: Matthew Curtius, Gerard DiFalco, Judy Gelles, Delia King, Dolores Poacelli, Amie Potsic, Jack Ramsdale, Paul Santoleri, Mike Steele, and Kae Taniguchi. Coinciding with the Fringe Festival and presented in conjunction with the Print Center's Imprint project as well as the Philadelphia Print Collaborative's fall festival, a major component of InLIQUIDATION will be five promotional flyers posted around town -- four designed by artists in the exhibition (Gerard DiFalco, Delia King, Judy Gelles, and Paul Santoleri) selected by guest curator gerard brown, and one designed by Space 1026. Space 1026 will print the flyers as well as a special limited edition (only 25) of each design; these will be offered for sale at the Painted Bride as a set of five signed prints. The Painted Bride Art Center Café Gallery is at 230 Vine Street in Philadelphias Old City arts district. Hours are Monday - Friday, 10 am - 6 pm, Saturday noon - 6 pm; also open to ticket-holding audiences of most Painted Bride performances (prior to performance and at intermission).
