First Person Arts in conjunction with the Philadelphia City Paper, InLiquid.com, and the Philadelphia Film Society present the 2006 Emerging Artists Photography and Short Documentary Film Contest entitled Little White Lies.  The contest also includes a writing category under the same name.

Founded in 2000 by Vicki Solot, First Person Arts is the producer of the First Person Festival and other workshop and interactive programs seeking to promote memoir and documentary art. “As part of the First Person Festival, the contests have become an opportunity to identify outstanding local artists and to provide them with visibility and recognition for their work,” says Solot.

As the only festival of its kind, First Person Arts is dedicated to presenting multi-disciplinary works of art based on the artists’ own experiences.

10 winning photographs will be showcased in an online exhibition during the First Person Festival in June 2006. The top three photographs will also be published in the City Paper. The first place winner will receive a free Inliquid Artist Membership.

6 winning documentary films will be announced in the City Paper and screened as part of the First Person Festival in June 2006. The First Place entry winner will receive a free Festival 10-Pass for use at either the Philadelphia Film Festival or Philadelphia International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival.

Stay tuned for the winning entries!
