Exhibit 2, the second in a series of offsite exhibitions, offers the public an opportunity to view firsthand work from selected InLiquid members' online portfolios. Like the other exhibitions in the series, Exhibit 2 places emphasis on the individual artists interests and techniques, offering the public a more intimate look at their work. This particular exhibition looks at four members who create prints.

Katie Amelia Baldwin combines her own letterpress text with woodcut images. Her current body of work focuses on printing multiple plate woodblocks using traditional techniques of Japanese printmaking. She recently studied these techniques with master carvers and printers on Awaji Island, Japan. Baldwin received her MFA in Book Arts from the University of the Arts and has exhibited at Space 1026 and Brandywine Print Center. She has received a number of awards including a Leeway Foundation Window of Opportunity Award, and residencies at Nagasawa Art Park, Tsuna-gun, Hyogo, Japan, and the Experimental Printmaking Institute, Easton, PA The artist lives and works in West Philadelphia.

Alyse C. Bernstein's lithographs of aquatic life, Moon Jellyfish, Octopus and Spotted Ray, draw connections between the printing process and the artists chosen subject matter. Utilizing the lo-shu technique, meaning reverse wash, Bernstein places special emphasis on the use of water in her drawing and the impact it has on the final print. She writes " This technique offers an often unpredictable outcome and is influenced by many factors such as the weather (a hot, dry day will accelerate the drying time), the type of water used (distilled, tap, or carbonated) and the use of additional ingredients such as hydrogen peroxide, salt or magnesium carbonate.  For me, it has proved to be the ideal media to explore the subject matter of marine life." Bernstein has received a number of awards including The Dene M. Louchheim Faculty Fellowship, and an Independence Foundation Fellowship. She is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and lives and works in Philadelphia.

Kitty Caparella is an artist and a journalist. She writes " Art is a refuge from my job as a reporter covering the underbelly of society." While Caparella's older work seem to be a reaction to the world she worked within, her newer work has become more introspective, drawing from both  personal experiences and visual references in art history. Many of Caparellas recent works are inspired by a trip to China, made possible by Henry Scheidt Memorial Travel Scholarship through the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Caparella is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and lives and works in Philadelphia.

RebeccaGilbert also draws from personal experiences for her subject matter, and incorporates writing with her prints. Included in the exhibition are 3 dimensional objects the artist constructs from hand printed silks and fibers. Stuffed birds and empty nests are emotionally charged substrates for the artists handwritten text and printed imagery that examine personal relationships and the human condition. Gilbert received her MFA in Book Arts from the University of the Arts, and is a current member of Nexus Foundation for Today's Arts. Gilbert lives and works in Philadelphia.
