Statement
This piece represents the emotions one may feel when confronting or dealing
with discrimination. The front of the piece illustrates a three dimensional
chair which is isolated and lonely in the middle of a cold room. The room
is constructed in two dimensions but perceived as a three dimensional
space. The back of the piece is open and free persuading you to step out
of the room. The piece is a transition from lonely and isolated to free
and confident.
Discrimination is an idea that is learned and passed on to our children.
If, individually, we can break ourselves free from this two dimensional
perception, then, ultimately, we will be free.
