The Painted Bride announces its first Artists of the City Awards, honoring three local arts luminaries who have catalyzed arts and culture in the region. Join ceremony host Michaela Majoun, of the XPN Morning Show, and the extended Bride community as we celebrate these individuals and the contributions they've made to the vitality of our city off the stage. 3 pm - Reception & Silent Auction -Enjoy delicious food and drink -Revel in the warm sounds of percussive traditions from around the orld including steelpan drum, oud, hang, and Spoken Hand's tabla choir -Bid to win in a unique Bride-like silent auction on breezy hotel stays, great summer food and wine, Southwest Airline tickets, The Perfect Picnic and more ! 5 pm - Awards Ceremony Honoring: Germaine Ingram, tap dancer and choreographer, for preserving and advancing Philadelphia's rich cultural history in tap. Moe Brooker, Moore College professor and newly appointed Arts Commissioner, for his esteemed career as a visual artist and deep commitment to cultural leadership in the city. Jesse Bermudez, founder and president of AMLA, for championing and creating opportunities for Latino musicians and artists.
