InLiquid at the Bride presents
Leslie Mutchler : Studies in Organized Living

Collecting, sorting, organizing and arranging are means by which Leslie Mutchler "makes sense of the material life" around her and is the basis of her creative process. Known for collecting, archiving and systematically configuring everyday items such as Post-it notes, bills, rubber bands, envelopes, hand written letters, candy wrappers, receipts, tickets, and tags, Mutchler's work is fueled by her obsession with cataloguing.

In her newer collage and installation work, Mutchler turns to catalogues from Crate & Barrel, Ikea, Pottery Barn, and other manufacturers who capitalize on America's interest in organized living. By turning to these existing catalogues as source material, and dissecting and reassembling the product imagery. Mutchler creates "a hybrid-form of organization that speaks about the many tastes and design influences surrounding our consumer culture".
