Philadelphia Sculptors
Philadelphia Sculptors is honored to be represented in this inaugural exhibition of The Art Gallery at City Hall. Founded in 1996, we are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization committed to promoting contemporary sculpture and serving as an advocate for sculptors. Over the years, we have organized numerous indoor and outdoor group shows at both traditional and non-traditional venues and have sponsored public art projects, artistic collaborations, and educational programs. This opportunity to exhibit the works of some of our artists allows us to continue to expand public awareness of the role and value of sculpture within our culture and to contribute to Philadelphia’s rich cultural fabric. It also allows us to continue to provide opportunities for local sculptors and to help young and emerging artists to exhibit their work and transition into the local arts community.
Out of our many talented artists, we have chosen to highlight the works of four sculptors: Colette Fu, Darla Jackson, Samantha Lynch, and Anyta Thomas. Although employing different sculptural vocabularies, they all share a belief in their ability to communicate universal emotions and engage the viewer in the power of art.
