Janell Olah’s installations explore how surroundings affect the inhabitants of a location -- physically and psychologically -- through systems, space, and memory.  Inspired by systems that guide movements such as airflow, plumbing, or electricity, Olah's site-specific and sculptural work adds new objects and materials to an existing space, making unseen systems become apparent while often subverting their intended function.
