Stratum represents Philadelphia-based artist Nancy Agati's most recent work, a series of works on paper that incorporate drawing, sculpture, collage, and printmaking. Agati's work responds and engages with nature one step beyond the typical landscape artist. Her work is a true investigation of what can be made from natural forms, and how the generations of these forms change through time and process.

This exhibition is presented in conjunction with Art in the Open (AiO), a citywide event that celebrates artists, their inspirations for creating art, and their relationships with the urban environment. Agati's work will also be on display in Conversation Hall at City Hall from May 17 through July 23, 2010 and at the Rosenwald-Wolf Gallery at the University of the Arts from June 13 through June 30, 2010; Agati will also be working on site along the banks of the Schuylkill River June 9 - 12, 2010, all as part of the Art in the Open event.
