CHALLENGING COLLECTIONS, a daylong event, held at the Kelly Writer’s House at the University of Pennsylvania, focuses on the philosophies and practices of selling and collecting artist books. Special guests include Jae Rossman, Curator of Book Arts at Yale Univesity, and Sandra Kroupa, founder of the Book Arts Guild and curator of book arts at the University of Washington. At the end of the event there will be the reception for ARTE PAGINA.

10 - 10:30 am: Registration

10:30 - 11:30 am: Prospectus writing workshop with Jae Rossman, Curator of Book Arts at the Yale University Library

11:30 am – 1 pm: Lunch

1 - 2 pm: Keynote Address by Sandra Kroupa, Curator of Rare and Artist Books at the University of Washington

2 – 4 pm: Panel Discussion, featuring Katie Amelia Baldwin, Artist, and Kristine Paulus, Special Collections Librarian. More panelists to be added as confirmed.

4 - 6 pm: Reception for ARTE PAGINA. Cases will be open and books will be able to be handled.
