The Career Wardrobe’s “Story of a Suit” Photography Exhibit: Call for Photographer Volunteers

Description of Project:  The Career Wardrobe (www.careerwardrobe.org) is looking for photographers who are experienced with black and white portrait photography to donate their time and talent to photograph 3 or more women as part of the organization’s 10th Anniversary photography exhibit entitled “Story of a Suit.”

The “Story of A Suit” exhibition represents the 35,000 “stories” that have been told at The Career Wardrobe as we pass donated suits onto women just starting their journeys in the workforce.  Each suit – like every woman who is helped – represents a tale of personal achievement, overcoming odds, perseverance and opportunity.  The Career Wardrobe hopes you can help bring several of these stories to life.

“Story of a Suit” will highlight 10 women whose careers, commitment to excellence, character and accomplishments embody The Career Wardrobe’s mission.  The photographs will be accompanied by brief a creative narrative describing the honoree’s “Story of A Suit.”

Exposure and Benefits:  “Story of a Suit” will be used to highlight the organization’s 10th Anniversary to local news media to gain publicity for both the organization and its partners (including photographers and writers).  Photographers will be credited in all “Story of a Suit” printed materials and also recognized at The Career Wardrobe's annual fundraising event (“A Perfect Fit”).

The “Story of a Suit” photographs will be exhibited at the following locations:

- Opening Gallery Reception for Career Wardrobe supporters, “Story of a Suit” honorees and volunteers graciously hosted by the Rosenfeld Gallery (Old City Philadelphia) on May 2, 2006.
