Artist Statement
I make art from a pallet of materials including chicken bones, religious mementos, twist ties, credit cards, dollar bills and dollar store multiples. I'm drawn to artifacts for their inherent social, political and ecological content. Process and excess drive both my collection of materials and art making rituals. One of my objectives is to explore and exploit the dualities in traditional fiber art.

Recently, I've been working with "Plastic": credit cards, ID cards and special offers. The plastic cards have value and no value; they contain information, power and access. They contain personal histories and hopes for the future.  The Plastic is hard to destroy. The act involves trust and fear. I hope that my work provokes consideration and that you will send me your old plastic.

Amy is collecting plastic cards worldwide. Please send your old plastic cards (Identity cards, credit cards, gas cards, special offers, gift cards, real and fake to Amy Orr at the above address. The cards will be cut and mixed together to alter personal information
