Artist Statement
I spend a lot of time looking at buildings, especially the ones no one else notices.

The architecture I love will never win the Pritzker Prize. It’s beauty is unintentional and mostly the result of neglect. Its functionality is modest. It is however nothing less than almost every building we see, every day.

To most these structures just exist, to some they are an eyesore. To their owners and residents they are far more complex hubs of life and commerce, memories and hopes, tax bills and roof leaks. To me they are the very fabric of our cities, a thrilling display on a long commute, and the perfect subject for a painting.
