Artist Statement
A critical art of my current investigation is the way in which monochromatic compositions are altered by light and the conditions under which they are seen.

In my earlier work, the figure was an important motif and ghosts of that period continue to appear in my current work.

These images and their surrounding spaces emerge from the process of physically applying paint. As each piece develops I watch and, to some degree, direct the transition from initial concept to visual realization. A mix of calculation and chance govern my creative process.
