Artist Statement
Each person leaves a mark on the world at the point of contact between what we have touched and what we have been touched by. Through a series of actions and reactions, bruises and events, learning and creating, our stories evolve. We are in constant collision with people and things, concious or unconcious, at every moment. In my recent work, I have been crafting and photographing small scale sculptures. In combining the construction of the object and the development of an image, I can control the experience of the object so that it functions as a limited set of visual concepts. It is about interacting with things and molding them to carry impressions, which are autobiographical, but I believe, also universal.
