Artist Statement
My work is a combination of reality, dreams and imagination. My intent is to create a place where the viewer can escape from the hectic pace of everyday life. Color, texture and composition are all important elements in my work. I sometimes use the same objects to create my settings. Some of these objects like hoops, balls, industrial vents, banners and clouds are things that I have loved looking at my entire life. The vent becomes my imaginary figure, which is influenced by religious sculptures. The ladders and clouds are also spiritually inspired. One painting leads to the next and I always look forward to the challenge of creating each piece.
