Artist Statement
I am interested in highlighting moments that might easily be missed.  Giving me or any viewer an opportunity to reflect upon the grace, or chaos or uncertainty contained in the moment, as the case may be.  The environment of the subject is essential to the composition of all my work.  Rather than being incidental, things like the texture on the walls, the array of dishes on the table or the vista in the background suggest the mood of the setting.  Perspective is important to me in creating a meaningful image.   With the right combination, I imagine that viewers are prompted to insert themselves in the experience to evoke memories or suggest a narrative of their own.
