Artist Bio
Olivia Antsis earned an MFA in Book Arts/Printmaking from The University of the Arts in 2005. During the course of her studies, Antsis developed a strong penchant for experimental narrative. Loosely intercepted by original intent or meaning, she intends for her work to be left open to interpretation by the viewer.

While Antsis admits to a wide range of influences, she finds that abandonment, exile, and dislocation are strong themes in her work. Though Antsis’ considers her work to be more concerned with the dark side of life, she believes that as long as an artist’s intentions are honest, such work has the capacity to be strikingly beautiful, haunting, and powerful. Moved by humanity’s potential for connection and empathy; Antsis strives to inspire an experience that, while personally meaningful, will resonate within all human beings.

In addition to artist books and prints, Antsis works with digital video, design, alternative photographic processes, and traditional color/b & w photography. Her other passions include music, film, literature, media, philosophy, travel and nature. Since graduation, Antsis has co-produced and edited an experimental documentary entitled Space Times Square and taught Books, Boxes, and Portfolios at Moore College of Art and Design. Currently Antsis works at InLiquid.com as the Site Editor.
