InLiquid’s wildly popular "Art for the Cash Poor" event is a block party this year! On Saturday, June 1 (rain date June 2), the 100 block of North Orianna Street in Old City Philadelphia will be taken over by InLiquid artists selling impossibly low priced art and design – nothing over $150 – in a street fair atmosphere of music, fabulous food and drink, and performances by cutting-edge dance and theatre artists. "Art for the Cash Poor" runs from 2 to 7 pm, with an after-party at Silk City Lounge, 5th & Spring Garden Streets, 8 pm to 2 am.
InLiquid’s "Art for the Cash Poor" gives the public a chance to not only meet InLiquid artists and see their work first-hand, but to begin or add to an art collection without breaking the bank. The works being shown and offered for sale run the gamut from photographs, paintings, and prints to jewelry, fashion, and hand-made books.

Among the many artists participating in this year’s event are: Minna Aaparyti, Robert Asman, Marc Brodzik, Peter Doyle, Caroline Furr, Judy Gelles, Delia King, Sara Lee, Paul Loughney, Irmak, Kathryn Pannepacker, Heather Rippert, Mike Steele, Margo Wunder, and many more. DJ Crystal Clear will be spinning, plus the Bald Mermaids, Megan Bridge, and other Fringe Festival veterans will be performing throughout the day. Nobody will go hungry, with food offerings from Aden, Beau Monde, Fork, Morton’s Steakhouse, New Quarry, and Petit 4 Pastry Studio; Yards Brewing Company will sponsor the liquid refreshment.
And there’s more! The after-party begins at 8 pm at Silk City Lounge, 5th and Spring Garden Streets, featuring DJ Applejack, DJ Ivan Ross, and three live bands: LaGuardia, Capitol Years, and Elevator Parade. Cover will be $5. (If the block party/sale gets rained out, the after-party will still go on!)
