Tikaboo Peak

Located at the end of a 20 mile long dirt road and 2 mile hike up a steep mountain, Tikaboo Peak is one of the few locations on public land from which one can observe the super-secret flight-test facility at Groom Lake, NV. This flight-test center is also popularly known at "Area 51."

Created in 1955 to test the CIA's U2 airplane, Groom Lake expanded over the years to develop A-12, Stealth Fighter (F-117a), cruise missiles, and numerous other classified aircraft. Groom Lake remains a major center of classified weapons testing.

In this video, shot in late 2003, one can barely make out the lights of an unidentified aircraft landing on the runway at Groom Lake.
